Firstly let me explain on how I came upon her book. Both Heather and her husband came into my public house last September 2008 for a Sunday Carvery. I had a quick chat with them and enquired about Heather?s health. She informed me she had wrote a book on her experience of going through cancer and would I like to read it? Oh course I would!! So I bought her book there and then.I started reading it the following week. Unfortunately my mother in law came down with a mysterious illness the same week and ended up in the Pilgrim hospital. Nobody knew what it was but eventually it was diagnosed as bowel cancer. Now I've had first hand experience of this, having watched my own mother die at 52 of lung cancer and my closest friend die of breast cancer at only 32 - all in a space of 6 months. Did I really want to go through all this again? But I sat there with Heather?s book and read it in one afternoon, whilst sat with my very poorly mother- in-law and what an inspiration and comfort to me it was. It's a book of pure honesty of her fears and her life. Some parts made me laugh out loud! Now I am not at all a religious person, in fact I would say I am an atheist but something did compel me to go down to the chapel where I found great comfort reading peoples messages. Unfortunately my mother-in-law died a couple of weeks after, but I got real strength from Heather's book and if there were true angels sent down from heaven to share a message of hope, Heather would be one of them. If you have been touched by cancer (and not everyone die's you know) and you want true inspiration please read this book.Kerry Bateman 16th June 2009"It is easy to read but with great depth.""I couldn't put it down once I started it.""My copy arrived on Saturday and I am rationing myself, reading a chapter at a time because there is so much to which I can relate and it is bringing back so many thoughts and feelings - but I am sure the Lord is using it in my healing process"."The chapters were short, and therefore I could break sessions between chapters, without feeling frustrated"."The book itself was riveting, and interesting until the very last"."I can only have admiration for the strength of your faith, which comes through the entire length of the book"."As a biography, I found it extremely interesting, moving, and very informative"."Well written. It was 2am before I could put it down!""very poignant story, I am still going over things in my mind. I read the book in the holiday and it is now in the Christian library in Budapest. ""I couldn't put it down. I hope that others are inspired by your courage, and determination."
